VBar Control over USB
Connect a Mikado VBar Control to your Mac with a USB cable.
Model setup
Nothing to do. Unlike other brands, VBar Control’s simulator output is fixed by the system, so there is no model type to choose and no mixing to disable. The dedicated flat model advice does not apply here.
Connecting
What you need to do depends on which VBar Control you have. Either way, no driver is required on a Mac — macOS detects the radio as a game controller by itself.
VBar Control Touch, Evo and Evo+
Just switch the radio on and connect the USB cable. The mode it starts in is already the right one, so there is nothing to change on the radio.
The original VBar Control
Select USB mode Simulator from the Transmitter Setup menu, then connect the USB lead, as described in Mikado’s documentation.
Then open HeliSense Settings, turn on USB Controller, and confirm the radio appears in the Input Device picker.
Running the wizard on a VBar
Follow the standard wizard walkthrough. There is one VBar-specific answer to know in advance.
VBar Control reports every switch as a set of buttons rather than as a moving axis. A three-position switch therefore arrives as two channels — one for each outer position, with the middle position being the one where neither is active. HeliSense handles this encoding natively, but at the end of the motor step it asks a question it can’t safely answer on its own:
If your motor-off is a separate switch, answer A different switch and capture it as prompted. See the motor step notes for how that capture works.
Reference layout
For comparison when reading the diagnostics report, here is what a VBar Control Touch EVO reports over USB:

The layout is fixed by the radio, so there is nothing to configure on the VBar side.
