Bluetooth game controller
Use an MFi-certified Bluetooth controller with HeliSense.
What it is
HeliSense works with MFi-certified Bluetooth game controllers through Apple’s built-in controller support. You may prefer this to the touch controls when a transmitter isn’t avaialable.
Must be MFi-certified. HeliSense relies on Apple’s game-controller support, so the controller needs to be one Apple recognises. Many common console-style controllers qualify, but older or uncertified pads may not connect. If your device pairs with it in Settings as a game controller, HeliSense can use it.
You’ll need
- An MFi-certified Bluetooth game controller.
- An iPhone, iPad or Mac running iOS 26 / macOS 26 or later.
How it connects
- Pair the controller with your device in the system Bluetooth / Game Controller settings.
- Open HeliSense and start a session; the controller’s sticks drive the helicopter.
A game controller is great for casual practice. For the closest feel to flying, a real transmitter over WiFi or USB is highly recommended.
